Introductory piece:
DEVA Most of my absolute favourite music contains just a soloist. I assume this has to do with the emotive nature of solo performance; the whole performance is vulnerable. In live a live setting, solo performance can be transfixing.
I decided this would be the perfect way to open my recital, lulling the audience into a state of transfixion before I introduce my first electronic piece. This piece was performed by Selena Meegan. Selena was given tone set, and received gestural signals throughout the recording. (Forgive the quality, this was recorded using DI and a violin mute at 2am). In my recital, this piece will be performed with live electronics, violin, and guitar. |

Rolling Stone
Creed Birch Rolling Stone is a piece composed by myself, engineered by Andrew Laird and features the hip-hop vocals of local emcee/producer Creed Birch. We will be performing a version of this piece live in my recital.
In my recital, this piece will be performed with live electronics, guitar and vocals. It is worth mentioning that Creed and I are currently composing another piece for the recital, to join from the piece before into Rolling Stone. |
